Inventory counts are total loose plates. Usable pairs = floor(total ÷ 2); bounded search uses 0.25kg resolution.

How to load the bar
Enter the target, bar and total collar weight. In unlimited mode, choose the plate sizes available; in inventory mode, enter each gym’s total loose-plate count. The one-side list is always ordered from the bar outward: largest plate nearest the sleeve shoulder, smaller plates outside, then the collar.
Barbell Plate Calculator helps athletes and everyday trainees get a clear, actionable number they can use in the gym, on the road or in the pool — without uploading any data. All calculations run locally in your browser.
Use the presets to learn the expected inputs, then adjust for your own session. Export or share the result when you want a training log or a quick plan for your next workout.
