FAQ
How is BMI calculated?
BMI = weight (kg) ÷ height (m) squared. For imperial it is 703 × weight (lb) ÷ height (in) squared.
What are the categories?
Under 18.5 underweight, 18.5–24.9 normal, 25–29.9 overweight, 30+ obese (WHO). Asia-Pacific guidance uses 23 and 25 as cutoffs for overweight and obese.
What is a healthy weight for my height?
The tool shows the weight range that keeps your BMI in the healthy band for your height and chosen standard, and how far you are from it.
Is BMI always accurate?
BMI is a general guide and does not account for muscle mass or body composition. Consult a professional for advice.
What is the waist-to-height ratio?
Waist ÷ height (same units). Keeping your waist under half your height (ratio below 0.50) is a widely used guideline for central-fat risk — it catches cases BMI misses, in both directions: muscular people flagged as "overweight" and normal-BMI people with abdominal fat.
Where is my logged history stored?
On this device only (browser localStorage). Nothing is uploaded. "Log today" keeps one entry per day, and the trend chart shows your last 12 entries.
