FAQ
How is the tile count calculated?
Tiles = area ÷ tile area × (1 + wastage%), rounded up. Herringbone/diagonal layouts need more cuts — use 15%+ wastage.
What tile sizes are common?
300×300 mm and 600×600 mm are standard floor sizes; subway tiles are often 75×150 mm.
Is grout included?
No — this calculator intentionally estimates tiles and whole boxes only. A defensible grout estimate also needs tile thickness, joint width and the grout product density, so use the product manufacturer’s calculator.
