Convert Unix timestamps

Paste a timestamp to compare scored s, ms, µs and ns candidates, or force its unit. See local, UTC, ISO 8601, relative time and all four Unix scales. ISO input also reports whether it used Z, a fixed offset or your device time zone.

FAQ

Seconds, milliseconds, microseconds or nanoseconds?

All four are supported. Auto mode scores every valid date using a reasonable year range and proximity to the present, and you can always force s, ms, µs or ns.

What is a Unix timestamp?

The number of seconds since January 1, 1970 (UTC), widely used in programming and databases.

What formats do I get?

ISO 8601 (UTC and local with offset), UTC/RFC string, your local date and time, weekday, relative time and normalized Unix values in s, ms, µs and ns.

How are ISO 8601 time zones handled?

The tool preserves and labels Z or the fixed UTC offset written in the input. If no offset is present, it explicitly says that the value was interpreted in your device time zone.

Does the year 2038 break timestamps?

Only software that stores Unix seconds in a signed 32-bit integer has the 2038 overflow. Modern 64-bit timestamp systems are not limited to that date.

Does it show my local time?

Yes — it shows both your local time and UTC, side by side.
