Favicon Generator
Turn a logo, photo or a single letter into a complete favicon pack: favicon.ico, PNG sizes 16→512, Apple touch icon, site.webmanifest and ready HTML tags — zipped locally in your browser.
Generate a complete favicon pack
Upload a logo or type a letter/emoji, pick a background shape and color, and download one ZIP with favicon.ico, all PNG sizes (16 → 512), the Apple touch icon, a ready site.webmanifest and the HTML tags — everything rendered locally in your browser.
Favicon Generator turns one source — a logo, a photo, or just a bold letter or emoji — into the complete icon pack a modern website needs: favicon.ico for legacy browsers and address bars, PNG sizes from 16 to 512, the 180px Apple touch icon for iOS home screens, Android Chrome icons, a ready-to-use site.webmanifest, and the exact HTML tags to paste into your <head>. One click, one ZIP, done.
The live previews show your icon at real sizes — including a mock browser tab — because the hard truth of favicons is that they must survive 16×16 pixels. The letter mode exists for exactly that reason: a bold initial on a colored rounded square is the most legible thing you can put in a tab. Everything is rendered and zipped locally in your browser; your artwork never leaves your device.
FAQ
What files does a website actually need in 2026?
A favicon.ico (16/32/48 in one file), favicon PNGs at 16/32/48, an apple-touch-icon.png at 180px, Android Chrome icons at 192 and 512, and a site.webmanifest that references them. That's precisely what the ZIP contains, plus the HTML tags.
Where do I put the files?
Upload everything to the root of your website (so /favicon.ico resolves), then paste the provided tags into the <head> of your pages. The html-snippet.txt in the ZIP has them ready.
Why does my beautiful logo look like noise at 16px?
Detail doesn't survive 256 pixels of total area. Increase the padding, or switch to letter mode — a single bold character on a solid background stays legible where a full logo can't.
What is the ICO file and why does it hold three sizes?
ICO is a container format: browsers pick the best-fitting size from inside it (16 for tabs, 32 for taskbars, 48 for shortcuts). The generator embeds all three as full-color images with transparency.
Does the transparent background survive?
Yes — choose the 'Transparent' shape to keep your source's alpha channel in every PNG and in the ICO. The shaped backgrounds (square/rounded/circle) exist for sources that need a solid stage.
What's the Apple touch icon for?
When someone adds your site to their iOS home screen, that 180×180 image becomes the app icon. iOS rounds the corners itself, so a full-bleed square design works best there.
Can I use an emoji as my favicon?
Yes — switch to letter mode and type any emoji. It renders with your system's emoji font onto the shape and color you choose. It's a legitimate, memorable option for personal sites.
Is my logo uploaded?
No. Rendering, ICO encoding and ZIP packing all happen inside your browser — the tool works offline once loaded.
