What is the difference between decimal and binary?

Decimal kB, MB, GB, TB and PB use powers of 1000. Binary KiB, MiB, GiB, TiB and PiB use powers of 1024 under IEC 80000-13. They are separate units, not two definitions of KB or GB.

Why does my drive show less space?
